We have been excited to see the girls ever since we last saw them in December. Our drive to Biloxi was nice as the weather changed from the mid-40s to the mid-80s pretty quickly.
Our first stop was Camping World as we had a water pump issue that needed to be looked at before our warranty ended. We dropped off the RV and met the girls for lunch at The Shed. The place was pretty empty so we had no issues with social distancing - we even decided to have the dogs come to sit with us at our outside table. That lasted an hour... We are still working on bringing them with us to public places, they just get so excited!
After lunch, we picked up the RV and then headed to Keesler AFB FamCamp to get setup. I wasn't sure what to expect as the place had mixed reviews, but our opinion is it's a lovely place and we easily could have stayed longer. Check out our video on the camp.
The girls refused to tell us where we were going for dinner so we were just along for the ride. Two of their friends, Jessy and Nicole, met up with us and we were surprised with a dinner cruise. We would have definitely picked this as an activity to do, it's totally something we enjoy doing. They did a great job surprising us! Sadly, due to this pandemic, it was their last cruise for awhile. We were so happy to have been able to do it and really had a fun time!
The next day we met for lunch and then Keith and I headed off to be interviewed for a local news story. (Hopefully, it will air this coming Friday. We will share more info once we know more.) This video is what got their attention on Instagram.
Then the girls met back up with us and we headed to Biloxi Ink Tattoo for Keith and Tristian to get a Father/Daughter tattoo. Check out the video on their tattoo. They both loved it and were excited to finally be getting one - they have been talking about it for a while.
Since we love axe throwing, they also planned an hour of axe throwing at a local place called Skal. Don't let them fool you, we won 3 to 1. It was so much fun!! Check out our video.
Afterward, we went to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant as news of closures was looming. The girls both work in the service industry so they are waiting to hear the future of their jobs right now. Keep them in your thoughts as this will be a hard time for people working in that industry.
As much as we wanted to stay longer, we had to pack up the next day and head to Texas. We did adjust our trip to be fewer stops on our way to San Diego as I have a tattoo scheduled. According to the artists, it is still on so we will keep moving that direction. The rest of the trip though may change after that... we shall see.
As we packed up, news of the casinos closing was announced and the girls should know by tomorrow what the fate of their jobs will be. Hoping for good news for them.
Next up Willis, TX for 4 nights - hoping to see a few family members but otherwise staying in and laying low. Visiting a grocery store for food is high on the list - wish us luck!
