This was our second time back here on this same trip. We are back because one of Keith's shipmates is retiring after 30 years so we wanted to attend his retirement ceremony. Plus, it's fun to see our other friends again before we head back down South.
We stayed at the Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort, which is the same Thousand Trails resort we stayed at last time. We weren't able to get the same space but we did get one that worked out for our needs. Every space we've had we had to work on leveling as the spaces aren't terribly level. We moved spaces a few times and then finally picked one that took us 45 min to get level. Keith and I didn't kill each other, we actually worked together really well.
I consider that a win as it was really stressful!
As soon as we arrived we met up with friends, Steve & Amy for dinner. The next day we spent a few hours at their salon, Beauty Rush, for a manicure for me and massages for both of us. They are always so nice to give us the family discount - THANKS, GUYS!
The next day was the retirement ceremony in Norfolk at Fort Norfolk. After the ceremony, we met up with Chris & Heather for a hibachi dinner (which we enjoyed for our breakfast leftovers the next day). We loved seeing them and the boys before they headed to the beach for summer vacation.
Our last day there was spent doing our large amount of laundry. However, that evening we went to Steve & Amy's for a BBQ where they spoiled us with delicious BBQ ribs. We aren't sure when we will be back so it was good to spend a lot of quality time with everyone!
On Sunday we got ready to roll out, but not before having breakfast at Shorty's with Steve & Amy one last time.
Next up, Littleton, NC.
