We have had a fantastic trip to Virginia and are loving seeing our friends, Steve and Amy Leadbetter and Chris and Heather Padlo.
We arrived on Sunday and right off the bat started planning visits to see everybody. Monday we had an amazing dinner at Steve and Amy's house where I learned about Wegmans and blood orange wine. Two new favorites! We had this chicken with Peruvian spices that may have been the best chicken I've ever eaten. (I bought some to eat on this trip and I'm excited to enjoy it again!)
Tuesday we lounged around and then went for hibachi and sushi with the Leadbetters (we found a groupon for it!). Wednesday I had the opportunity to go wine tasting with Amy at the Williamsburg Winery (She’s a member so our tastings were free!) while Keith got in a round of golf with Chris. The wine tasting adventure taught me that I'm a big fan of rose' in a can, it's pretty spectacular. I had no idea! Thursday we had the opportunity to have a spa day: I got a mani/pedi and Keith had a massage at Beauty Rush in Williamsburg. (Amy and Steve are the owners.) Keith claims it's probably "the best massage" he's ever had. He's had a lot, so that's quite a thing to say. Amy gave us a great discount, which we didn’t expect. That was very kind of her!
After our spa day, we headed to Richmond to run a few errands. Then it was just a chill night at home. Friday was filled with relaxing in the RV until we met up with the Leadbetters for beer, tunes and BBQ at The Virginia Beer Company.
Today we are spending the day in Chesapeake with the Padlos. I'm getting my hair fixed from the fiasco of our attempt of coloring my hair in the RV... (Thanks Heather for the referral and thank you Shop at 4001!) Then we all plan to enjoy hibachi tonight for dinner and then drinks at the Duck Blind Tiki Bar at Decoy.
For this trip we stayed in a Thousand Trails campground in Williamsburgh, which cost us nothing. The campground wasn’t bad at all. We plan to stay here again later in June when we return.
This has been a great visit!
