Savannah has always been a town I’ve enjoyed visiting. Keith has never been so it was exciting to watch him experience it for the first time. He loved the homes and the history.
I had him watch Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil a few months ago, which he enjoyed. Then for him to see some of the homes in the movie was really cool. We toured the Jim Williams home (we got a 10% military discount off the tickets), which was a big player in the movie. The tour was only about 35 minutes and they failed to mention he died in the home 6 months after being cleared for murder. Do you know the story? If not, read the book or watch the movie! Keith insisted we watch the movie again once we got back.
We did an all day hop on hop off tour we found on Groupon for under $35 for 2, which was a smart move. It allowed us to see a lot of Savannah in less time than walking everywhere. Don’t be fooled, we still got in a lot of walking. We stopped for lunch at a cute place called The Grove. Service wasn’t great for brunch but the food was delicious! We broke Keto a bit and enjoyed some fluffy biscuits (and fried chicken for me). Worth it!
Savannah is such an artsy, southern town – so many shops and cute cafes. I wish we had more time here. I was sick Saturday so we missed a full day of exploring. We’ll be back, I’m sure! We leave on the 8th for Cape Fear… (so-far, it feels like a movie tour trip. LOL!).
Off topic, I did look at homes on Zillow as I am always curious about home prices in Savannah… They don’t seem insane here. I love looking at the different areas. Is that so wrong? Maybe we can add a 3rd home to our “portfolio”… LOL
