We met up with my parents in the Cape Cod RV Resort right on the border of NH and MA to begin our month-long travels with them.
Once we got all set up, we traveled into town to grab dinner. We found this great place called Quahog Republic where we all proceeded to enjoy lobster rolls and the best bloody mary's EVER.
The next morning we went to Plymouth to have breakfast and to see where the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. As thrilling as it was to see a rock, we can at least check "seeing Plymouth Rock" off our life to-do lists.
The town of Plymouth wasn't very busy and many places were closed as it wasn't peak season for tourism just yet. So we opted to drive to Cape Cod to see the Kennedy Compound. I can only imagine in their heyday, the Kennedys had high security and the place was bustling with activity. Today it's a beautiful area of homes, right on the water, with some fences and hedges. From what we could see from the road it looks like a lovely place with beautiful views of the water.
Seeing that they don't offer any tours of the homes, we found a JFK museum in town and headed there instead. It was only $13 per adult, so we figured that wasn't bad at all.
We toured the museum, which is small, but we all felt we walked away with the information we didn't know. So, for a grey chilly day, we made the most of what we could find.
If you plan to go, it seems there is a Groupon for it now. Don't forget to use Ebates before you buy!
