We are all ready for the next adventure! So we packed up the RV's and headed to our next campground, which just happened to be right on the line of NH and MA. We were excited to meet up with friends, Rob and Kris, at Tuxbury Pond RV Resort for 4 nights. It's always fun to see them.
After getting settled we all met up for dinner in the closest town - Amesbury, MA. We tried a place called CRAVE - which was great! They had live music and the food was really good.
The next day we decided to explore the area and the 4 of us headed to Portsmouth to check out the town. It's a really cute town filled with boutiques and trendy places to eat. We didn't spend a ton of time there as we had plans in Salem with Rob and Kris - a witch tour!
That night we all headed to Salem, MA and joined a witch tour where we walked the streets of Salem learning all about the witch trials and the history of Salem. It was really interesting. Keith and I did a similar tour 2 years ago but we did learn and see a few new places which are always a plus.
It's really crazy that people could just be pissed at someone and say they were a witch and they would be arrested and put to death. If you've never been to Salem, go, it's sad this happened but something worth learning about.
The next day was devoted to visiting Boston. We opted to do a hop-on-hop-off tour as they tend to be a great way to get around the city and see a lot more than you could on foot.
Our day started with lunch and cocktails - day drinking happens a lot during our travels. We followed some of Paul Revere's ride, we saw the stadiums, many buildings that are important that I now have forgotten... It was a good tour, in the cold.
For our last day, we headed back towards Boston to explore Harvard and then to do a harbor cruise. It was still a really cold day but we weren't going to miss taking a boat anywhere! Harvard was a beautiful campus, but sorry, Yale wins.
The harbor cruise had beautiful views of the city and was worth every penny, despite the cold! Our captain was great - he was retired Coast Guard so he and Keith had a lot to talk about. It was a great excursion to end our trip to the area.
We head to Maine tomorrow.
