We had a few stops where not much really happened but for the sake of keeping track, I will make an update.
From June 26 - 28 we stopped at the Forest Lake RV campground in Advance, NC. We didn't really do much of anything there other than setup, cook our own meals, get some work done and then hit the road again. I took no pictures, and that's not normal...
On July 1 - 3 we stopped in Valdosta, GA for a few nights at Eagles Roost RV Resort. It wasn't a bad campground but our site had no grass and was super close to our neighbors, which made letting the dogs out not really enjoyable. We did venture out for groceries, I got get a pedicure (which was horrible), Keith got a haircut (which he enjoyed) and we had lunch at a local restaurant which was pretty good.
Our next stop was Flagler Beach, FL as we were wanting to check out St. Augustine. We stayed at Bulow RV Resort which wasn't bad at all - lots of grass and large spaces. We were there over the 4th of July so the campground had lots of firework noise but thankfully our dogs weren't bothered as our TV and A/C tuned out the noise pretty well.
We did eat dinner out and I had a burrito the size of a newborn baby. It was $2 off burrito night and $4.99 margaritas, so we joined in. We opted to stay in with them the rest of the night and not deal with the outside world.
On the 5th I had planned a romantic sunset cruise in St. Augustine for the two of us. So, when the time came, we headed North for dinner and to check out the city. Keith met a guy who owns a wine bar while he was golfing the day before (thanks again Groupon!) so we stopped in to have some wine.
Sadly, he wasn't there so I didn't get to meet him but we did meet his very friendly wife. I swear if we ever own another business it needs to be just like Carerra Wine Cellar - that place is so cute and has such a great selection of wines. We both enjoyed some wine popsicles they make in house. I opted to try both flavors: the Riesling and their Rose. Both were amazing - I need to learn how to make them for our travels!
For dinner, we went to O.C. Whites which was a recommendation from our friends Rob and Kris. Once I read up on it and how the place is haunted I knew exactly why they were drawn to that restaurant - they love all things haunted. A ghost did not join us for dinner but we did enjoy our shrimp and crab cakes.
While eating dinner we got a text that due to weather our cruise was canceled. Next thing we knew it was a downpour. Thankfully Groupon let me trade in the voucher for something else. They are usually really great about that (unless it's a Viator voucher).
We liked St. Augustine but we weren't there long enough to really enjoy it - we will need to go back another time for longer.
Next up - Orlando for the last leg of our 3-month journey.
